Samsung SC-DC173 Camcorder Review - Camcorder Info

Samsung-SC-DC173.jpg

Camcorder Info have published a review of the Samsung SC-DC173 DVD camcorder. 'A large, circular disc hatch engulfs most of the SC-DC173’s right side. Unlike most disc hatches, Samsung’s includes an embedded plastic window so you can see some disc spinning action while you record. The SC-DC173’s hand strap is probably one of the most adequate features on this camcorder. It’s soft, bulky, and padded with plush foam. In addition, the hand strap is mounted almost halfway up the back, so the SC-DC173 will not flop to the side like most camcorders. Above the rear strap anchor is the generously-sized mode dial, which is easy to access and shift with the thumb. Near the top, above the mode dial, you’ll find the disc/card switch. A miniscule USB port hides below the rear strap anchor, sheltered by an oval plastic cover secured to the body rather firmly.'

Samsung SC-DC564 DVD Camcorder – Digital Trends

Samsung-SC-DC564.jpg

Digital Trends have published a review of the Samsung SC-DC564 DVD camcorder. ‘The Samsung SC-DC564 miniDVD camcorder is a very handsome device. The DC564 is sleek and somewhat modernistic. The gunmetal-grey color theme is beautiful to look at; everything feels sturdy, but equally ergonomic and light. Whoever at Samsung designed the exterior of the SC-DC564 deserves a raise and a firm handshake. The SC-DC564's controls are easy to learn, even for folks who are new to camcorders. On the exterior of the SC-DC564, there are only seven buttons to control the major functions of the camcorder. While seven buttons may sound like a lot, it's really quite minimalist.’

'Samsung has announced the release of two nearly identical “hands-free” Flash/SD memory standard definition camcorders last week at the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show, following in the tradition of the their sports cam line. The rubber-coated SC-X300L features 2GB of onboard flash memory and second, external helmet cam. The entry-level SC-X300 (omitting the "L" in the name) ships with 1GB of memory and no helmet cam.

Samsung SC-DC164 Camcorder Review

Samsung%20SC-DC164.jpg

David Kender writing over at Camcorder Info posts an informative review of the the "entry-level" Samsung SC-DC164 camcorder. 'The Samsung SC-DC164 features a 1/4.5” CCD with 680K gross pixels. This is larger than the average chip size, but the same pixel count. Resolution is largely dependent on the number of pixels, and low light performance is largely dependent on chip size. Why the discrepancy with this particular chip? It could be for a number of reasons, probably related to lower manufacturing costs. What we can tell you is that this is not a very good chip.

Camcorderinfo. Com: Samsung SC-X210L Camcorder

Samsung SC-X210L Camcorder.bmp

David Kender posts a rather unflattering review of the Samsung SC-X210L Camcorder on Camcorderinfo. ‘Samsung is back again with new additions to the Sports Cam line. The SC-X210L replaces last year’s X105, with a number of improvements, including a twice the internal memory (now 1GB), a better design for their external lens, and no more cradle (all ports have been relocated right onto the body). As we said last year, this is a camcorder for a very specific market of rugged sporty types, but even people in those markets might be disappointed by the sorry, sorry performance.
