Casio Exilim EX-Z77 Review - DigiCamReview

Casio-Exilim-EX-Z77.jpg

DigiCamReview have published a review of the sleek Casio Exilim EX-Z77 digital camera. ‘The camera has many options, things like resolution, flash, focusing mode, anti-shake, ISO, white balance, exposure compensation, easy mode, all quickly accessible through the SET button and the Panel Layout mode (you can choose whether you want this on or off, with it on it gives you quick access to the most commonly used features, with it off you have to go into the menu to change options). Flash options are one-touch buttons. One of the more interesting features is the continuous flash shooting mode - this lets you shoot three photos very quickly with flash.’

Casio EX-V8 Review -InfoSync World

Casio-EX-V8.jpg

A review of the compact Casio EX-V8 digital camera has been posted over at InfoSync World. 'The EX-V8 has an impressive 7X optical zoom lens, especially with its relatively slim size. ISO settings should have offered a little higher than ISO 800, especially when comparable models are shipping with ISO 1600. We’d like to see some better stats from a $300 camera, but it appears most of the money went into the 8.1 megapixel sensor, anti-shake and the 7x internal optical zoom. The auto-focus never seemed to work properly for us. The motor that drove the lens was constantly whirring, and only stopped once we clicked the shutter. The anti-shake made a definite difference, on both video and still shots, working much better than other Casio models we’ve tested. That being said, it usually didn’t matter, because the picture was blurred not by our hand shaking but the failing autofocus.'

Casio Exilim EX-V7 Review - LetsGoDigital

Casio-Exilim-EX-V7-Reviewed.jpg

LetsGoDigital have published a review of the Casio Exilim EX-V7 digital camera. ‘The Casio Exilim V7 is a middle range digital compact camera with its 7 million pixels. This is more than enough for everyday photography, in fact, it is a standard resolution. The Casio Exilim EX-V7 has Casio’s newest processor, the Exilim Engine 2.0. This processor provides the camera with Autotracking AF, so that the autofocus follows the subject’s movement, controls for clarity so that dark photos are prevented, and controls for colour aberrations. Furthermore, colours can be corrected directly and placed in perspective. The processor is a valuable application, indeed.’

Casio Exilim Card EX-S880 Review - CNET Asia

Casio-Exilim-Card-EX-S880.jpg

CNET Asia have published a review of the Casio Exilim EX-S880 super-slim digital camera. 'The EX-S880 features an 8-megapixel CCD sensor and Casio's new Exilim Engine 2.0 image processor, compared to the S770's 7-megapixel sensor and original Exilim Engine processor. Beyond these two upgrades, however, the camera's hardware attributes are largely identical to those of its predecessor; as we stated above, both cameras share the same large LCD and 3x lens. The camera's menus and software-based controls keep the same convenient interface, while the new image processor and a few new features set it a bit above the S770.'

Review: Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 - DigiCamReview

Casio-Exilim-EX-Z1050-DigiCamReview.jpg

DigiCamReview have published a review of the 10-megapixel Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 digital camera. ‘The camera is compact and stylish, with a sturdy metal body available in a number of colours. The camera is very easy to use, the menu system is straightforward and the buttons and controls are logically arranged. There is a good choice of features and options, although the camera doesn't feature manual controls. The camera speed is generally very good, with a fast switch on time, fast focusing time, fast shutter response, and a fast continous shooting mode. The screen size is good at 2.6" although the resolution is on the low side at 114,000 pixels, the quality appears to be very good.’

Review: Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 Digital Camera - Digital Trends

Casio-Exilim-EX-Z1050.jpg

Digital Trends have published a review of the Casio Exilim EX-Z1050 digital camera. 'The Exilim EX-Z1050 is as ordinary as can be, looking like every other silver-bodied “Made In China” camera on the market (and there are dozens of them). To spice things up a notch, the digicam is also available in black, blue and pink to match your mood or clothing. The front is dominated by the 3x optical zoom that translates to 38-114mm in 35mm terms. When you power up, it pops out; when shut down it retracts into the body and there’s a built-in lens cover. Again, nothing out of the ordinary. You’ll also find the flash, an AF Assist lamp, microphone and a few decals touting the brand and 10.1-megapixel resolution.'

Casio Exilim EX Z1200 Review at Pocket-Lint

Casio-Exilim-EX-Z1200.jpg

Pocket-Lint have published a review of the 12-megapixel Casio Exilim EX Z1200 digital camera. ‘The Z1200 is Casio’s new flagship model and as such, it steams into port with a level of specification befitting the role. To start the build is great, the black and lustrous gunmetal-coloured alloy body is beautifully made and feels rock solid with stylish silver accents around the 3x optical zoom lens on the front to finish off the smart styling. That lens offers a focal range of 37mm to 111mms and has a fast F2.8 maximum aperture so, while not particularly ground breaking in terms of field of view it affords, the lens gives a workmanlike focal range that would benefit from a wider-angle to make this camera an even more attractive catch.’

Review: Casio Exilim EX-Z75 - Trusted Reviews

Casio-Exilim-EX-Z75-Review.jpg

A review of the compact Casio Exilim EX-Z75 digital camera has been posted over at Trusted Reviews. 'One of the latest models in the Exilim range is this, the 7.2-megapixel EX-Z75. Although the “Z” series aren’t sold on their slimness (that’s the “S” series) it is a marvellously compact camera. It measures 95.4mm wide by 60.6 tall by only 19.6mm thick, and that’s across the thickest part, including the lens and monitor. Across the thinnest part of the body it’s just 16.2mm, and that’s without using BenQ’s trick of a tapering body shape. Weighing just 122g dry, it’s small and light enough to slip into any pocket or handbag.'

Casio Exilim EX-Z70 - CNET Asia

Casio-Exilim-EX-Z70.jpg

CNET Asia have published a review of the compact Casio Exilim EX-Z70 digital camera. 'At 118g and 95.2 x 60.6 x 19.8mm, the Z70's slim, metal body is the right size to fit into your pocket. Though the size is right, you should still be very careful when pocketing this camera. Besides the tiny power button on the top, the two flat record and playback buttons on the camera's backside can also turn it on. If your pocket is too tight or if you don't pay attention, you could drain the camera's battery or have the lens pop out at inopportune times. The Z70 comes with the same handy features standard on all of Casio's Exilim cameras. Digital-image stabilization helps reduce shake and blur when using the camera's 38-to-114mm-equivalent lens. However, that feature shouldn't be confused with the more-effective optical or mechanical-image stabilization offered by some other camera makers.'

The aluminum-bodied newcomer comes in four colours: black, silver, gold and pink. Casio Exilim EX-V7 - InfoSync World

Casio-Exilim-EX-V7-Review.jpg

A review of the Casio Exilim EX-V7 compact camera has been posted over at InfoSync World. 'With its sliding lens cover / power switch, the Exilim EX-V7 could be mistaken for a Sony Cybershot. The camera is a simple, thin, silver box, like many other compacts in its class, without significant style or design details. The screen is very crisp and bright, with deep color, so previewing images was a pleasure. Buttons are placed neatly along the right side of the camera, from the shutter release on down, which does put everything within reach. Still, we were not fans of the loose function dial, which never stayed put between trips to and from our pockets. When we thought we were ready to shoot a portrait, many times we ended up starting a video (or, heaven forbid, adjusting aperture settings). Also, once or twice the lens cover came open, though the camera has a sleep mode to avoid battery rundown.'

Casio Exilim EX-Z75 - CNET

Casio-Exilim-EX-Z75.jpg

CNET have published a review of the Casio Exilim EX-Z75 (blue) digital camera. ‘At 3.8 inches wide by 2.4 inches high by 0.8 inch deep with the lens retracted, the Z75 will fit in almost any pocket, though you'll need to dig into the setup menu if you don't want to turn the camera on by accident. By default, the playback and record buttons on the back will power up the camera if you press them when the camera is off. In our field tests, we were vexed on more than one occasion when the lens extended while the camera was in a jacket pocket. Ultimately, we turned this feature off. All of the camera's buttons are on the right hand side of the camera, making one-handed shooting fairly comfortable, though we always recommend shooting with two hands for better stability. Most of the buttons look and feel very similar, making it difficult to differentiate between them without looking.’

Casio Exilim EX-V7 - CNET

Casio-Exilim-EX-V7.jpg

A review of the stylish Casio Exilim EX-V7 digital camera has been posted over at CNET. ‘At first glance, Casio's Exilim EX-V7 looks like a typical, humdrum compact camera. It borrows the sliding lens cover design made popular by Sony's T-series cameras, has a 7.2 megapixel CCD sensor and a 2.5-inch LCD, and though heavier than most cameras its size, you should feel comfortable carrying it in a pocket. On closer inspection, you'll notice that the lens covers a 7x optical zoom range, covering the equivalent of 38mm to 266mm. Also, Casio includes sensor shift (aka mechanical) image stabilization to help minimize blurry pictures with that long lens.’

Computer Active have published a review of the 10-megapixel Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z1050 pocket camera. ‘Flip the camera over and you’ll find out. The back is almost entirely swallowed up by a 2.6in wide screen, not the biggest in its class, but with a camera these dimensions it’s plenty big enough. A mix of plastic and aluminium, and available in black, blue, silver, gold or pink, the Z1050 feels lightweight.

Casio Exilim EX-S770 - Trusted Reviews

Casio-Exilim-EX-S770.jpg

Trusted Reviews have posted their review of the Casio Exilim EX-S770, which is described as the "best ultra-compact digital camera on the market". 'The latest model in the ultra-slim Exilim S-series, the EX-S770, is a good case in point. It is a high-spec 7.2-megapixel ultra-compact with an f/2.7 – f/5.2, 3x optical zoom lens and a 2.8-in wide-format LCD monitor which with 230,400 pixels is one of the sharpest on the market. It has a strong all-metal body available in three different colours, and in terms of build quality and design it is a match for anything from the more popular brands. At just 17.3mm thick it is the slimmest digital camera you can buy, and by a fair margin at that. At 127g it is also one of the lightest.

Casio EXILIM EX-S600 - Imaging Resource

EXILIM-EX-S600.jpg

Dan Havlik writing over at Imaging Resource has posted a review of the compact Casio EX-S600 digital camera. 'The EX-S600 I tried out was the "blue" version which is actually an attractive metallic bluish-grey color which the "metrosexual" in me says also might have a hint of lavender. (Sorry, maybe I've been watching too many Fab Five reruns on Bravo lately.) Though it's made mostly of polycarbonate, there are nice silver metal accents on the Casio EX-S600 around the lens and across the faceplate including a solid metal fingergrip and raised metal lettering spelling out the EXILIM name. The metal accents are picked up in a silver band that runs across most of the top of the camera, and in the metal zoom rocker, multi-controller, and various buttons on the back.'

Casio Exilim EX-Z70 Digital Camera Review

Casio%20Exilim%20EX-Z70.jpg

A review of the Casio Exilim EX-Z70 digital camera has been posted over at KenRockwell.com. 'It's a great little camera for $249 that makes it easy to make loads of great photos, but today you can get much better if you're willing spend $299 on something like a Casio EX-S600 or Canon SD550. Then again, the other cameras don't look anywhere near as swift as the EX-Z70 does, because those cameras don't come in black. I love black cameras. The EX-Z70 is a great camera, but others are better still for not much more more money. Image quality of the EX-X70 is the same as other 7MP cameras. The lens isn't quite as good, but still makes sharp 12 x 18" prints.'

Casio Exilim EX-Z600 Digital Camera Review

Casio Exilim EX-Z600.jpg

Jonathan Ryan writing over at Think Camera has reviewed the compact Casio Exilim EX-Z600 digital camera. 'Cameras are changing very very fast. Features that were just dreams a while ago are now showing up on most cameras we test. For example. a year ago, a camera with anti shake technology was big news. Now it seems that all compact cameras have it. It's the new must have for the season and of course the Exilim has “Anti Shake DSP”. This is software based anti shake - essentially the camera applies some very clever software to make the picture look less blurred. This is way ahead of normal sharpening but still falls a little short of hardware optical image stabilisation such as you find in some of the Panasonic cameras and many DSLR bodies and lenses.'

Casio Exilim EX-Z850 Digital Camera Review At DCRP

Casio Exilim EX-Z850.jpg

Digital Camera Resource Page has reviewed the Casio Exilim EX-Z850 digital camera which is an updated version of the Casio EX-Z750 model. 'Last year Casio started building memory into their cameras instead of including a memory card in the box. On the EX-Z850 they include a ridiculous 8MB of memory, which holds just one shot at the highest quality setting. I probably don't have to say this, but you'll want to buy a memory card right away, which drives up the initial price of the camera a bit. The Z850 uses Secure Digital memory cards, and I'd suggest 512MB or 1GB as a good starter size. Since camera performance (especially in continuous shooting mode) improves when using a high speed memory card, I'd recommend spending a little extra to get one.'

'Casio packs eight megapixels of resolution, an “antishake” DSP, a ton of manual options, plus 34 Best Shot scene modes into the Exilim Zoom EX-Z850. A bright 2.5-inch LCD fills most of the back of this compact 5.6-ounce camera, along with several tiny buttons and a dial for switching among still camera settings (Manual Exposure, Aperture AE, Shutter Speed AE), movie recording, and voice recording functions. The highlight is the Best Shot setting, which offers traditional options like Portrait, Scenery, and Pet, plus new functions like Old Photo. Casio Exilim EX Z1000.jpg

The Photography Blog has reviewed the Casio Exilim EX-Z1000 camera which was previewed in April by Terry Sullivan of PC Mag. 'The Casio Exilim EX-Z1000 has a 10.37 megapixel, 1/1.8 inch CCD that delivers 10.1 effective megapixels. There are a range of image sizes (3,648×2,736 / 3,648×2,432 (3:2), 3,648×2,048 (16:9), 2,560x1,920, 2,048×1,536, 1,600×1,200, 640×480) and 3 different quality levels (Fine, Normal, Economy). Images are recorded as JPEGs. The camera's 3x optical zoom lens is equivalent to a 38-114mm lens on a 35mm format camera. There is also a 4x digital zoom should you feel the need to use it. When the digital zoom is activated, images with resolutions from VGA up to a maximum of 5 megapixels can be stored in the central area of the CCD chip and projected by the relevant zoom factor, without any detail being lost. Depending on the resolution you choose, this lets you achieve a zoom factor of between 1.4x and 1.7x. The camera has just 8Mb of built-in memory - it is not supplied with an SD Memory Card or Multi-Media Card.'

Casio Exilim EX-Z1000 Ultra Compact Camera

Casio Exilim EX-Z1000.jpg

Terry Sullivan previews the 10 megapixel utracompact Casio Exilim EX-Z1000 camera for PC Mag. 'With a suggested list price of $399.99 and a June release date, the EX-Z1000 will be one of the first point-and-shoot digital cameras to give consumers 10 megapixels to play with. Whether they need this much is another question, but at the very least, consumers will get the benefits of fairly large files (approximately 4.2MB) in order to crop images in their image-editing software. Of course, they'll also get the drawbacks of large file sizes; namely, slower image upload and transfer times, and fewer shots fitting on a memory card.
