Fujifilm FinePix F50fd Review - CNET

Fujifilm-FinePix-F50fd.jpg

CNET have published a review of the Fujifilm FinePix F50fd digital camera. 'Ever since Fuji introduced the FinePix F10, the company's double-digit-named F-series has been all about low noise at higher ISOs. Over the years, though, Fuji has developed the line into the very compact, classy-looking FinePix F50fd under review here. The F50fd sports a 12-megapixel Super CCD imaging sensor, 3x optical 35-to-105mm f/2.8-5.1 zoom lens, and 2.7-inch 230,000-pixel LCD. Its sensitivity reaches up to ISO 1,600 at full resolution, though the camera offers ISO 3,200 at a reduced resolution of 6MP and ISO 6,400 at 3MP. Better than that, the F50fd includes manual exposure controls, including both aperture- and shutter-priority.

Fujifilm Big Job HD-3W Review - Computeractive

Fujifilm-Big-Job-HD-3W.jpg

A review of the rugged Fujifilm Big Job HD-3W digital camera has been posted over at Computeractive. ‘Fujifilm's strangely named Big Job HD-3W is designed to take rough treatment, both in terms of water and shocks. The HD-3W is larger than usual for a compact camera, being closer to the size of a digital SLR, but this does give room for the large 8cm screen on the back. There’s no viewfinder, and the LCD isn’t too bright in full sunlight, though it's fine indoors and on overcast days. The zoom lens offers 3x magnification and although no memory card is supplied, the HD-3W has 27MB of internal memory, providing room for 19 shots at the camera’s maximum 6-megapixel resolution. It also includes a mode in which it takes 1-megapixel pictures, which Fujifilm says is ideal for pictures attached to email messages.’

Fuji FinePix Z5fd Review – PC Mag

Fuji-FinePix-Z5fd.jpg

PC Magazine have published their review of the Fuji FinePix Z5fd pocket camera. ‘Available in silver, raspberry red, and brown finishes, the Z5fd is stylish-looking, with a well-constructed metal body. When opened, its sliding front cover turns the camera on to expose the 3X zoom lens and built-in flash. A small number of buttons puts essential controls at the photographer's fingertips. These buttons also provide one-touch activation of a face-detection mode and a digital antiblur mode that boosts the shutter speed and ISO setting to capture sharper automatic shots. Another function button on the camera provides quick access to quality, ISO, and color settings. Not every feature gets a quick access button, however; exposure compensation and continuous shooting modes are among those that don't. You have to go into the main LCD menu to use them.’

Review: Fuji FinePix Z5fd Digital Camera – Pocket-Lint

Fuji-FinePix-Z5fd-Review.jpg

A review of the compact Fuji FinePix Z5fd digital camera has been posted over at Pocket-Lint. ‘The Fuji FinePix Z5fd is a sleek slice of metal that has a slide-open front plate that also turns the camera on and off and protects the lens and flash when shut. The Z5 logo lights up when activated as well and this adds an extra sparkle to an already gleaming design. The Raspberry Pink liveried model I had to test is an all metal bodied machine with nice ergonomics barring the lens position; it sits right in the top left corner (viewed from above) and means stray fingers can accidentally cover the lens.’

Fujifilm FinePix F40fd - CNET

Fujifilm-FinePix-F40fd-Reviewed.jpg

CNET have published their review of the Fujifilm FinePix F40fd digital camera. 'Fujifilm was among the first camera makers to push up to ISO 1,600 and beyond in compact cameras, thanks to its effective noise-reduction algorithms. That resulted in a parade of double-digit F-series cameras that employ Fuji's Real Photo Technology--a group of features aimed at shooting usable photos in low-light, among other, situations. The latest of those cameras is the FinePix F40fd, which offers an 8.3-megapixel Super-CCD-HR sensor, sensitivity up to ISO 2,000, a 2.5-inch LCD, and a 3x, 36mm-to-108mm f/2.8-to-f/5.1 zoom lens. However, you won't find optical or mechanical image stabilization, which puts it one step behind many of its competitors, some of which also offer 4x or even longer zoom lenses, too.'

Fujifilm-FinePix-F40fd-Review.jpg

Trusted Reviews have published their review of the Fujifilm FinePix F40fd digital camera. ‘The F40fd is one of the latest in the line, announced in January this year, alongside a basically identical model made exclusively for Argos, the F45fd. It is an 8.3-megapixel model featuring Fuji’s 1/1.6-in SuperCCD HR VI sensor and Real Photo Processor II engine, as well as Fuji’s hardware-based face detection technology. Other features include a 2.5-in 230k LCD monitor, 2000 ISO maximum sensitivity, and interestingly the ability to use both xD-Picture and SD memory cards, although it does NOT accept SDHC cards.’

Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro - CNET

Fujifilm-FinePix-S5-Pro-Review.jpg

CNET have published their review of the Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro DSLR ‘It's no secret that Fujifilm models its dSLRs on Nikon bodies, but its latest model, called the Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro, may as well be a clone of the Nikon D200--from the outside at least. Inside, Fujifilm swaps out the Nikon guts for its own array of electronic imaging machinery. Chief among that array is the company's Super CCD SR Pro imaging sensor, which combines two photodetectors per pixel in an attempt to create a wider dynamic range than you'd get from a normal sensor.

Fujifilm Finepix Z5fd - Shiny Shiny

Fujifilm-Finepix-Z5fd-Review.jpg

Shiny Media have published their review of the sleek Fujifilm Finepix Z5fd digital camera. 'Fujifilm's Z5fd is a compact little snapper available in a range of colours - alongside the standard silver you'll find mocha brown and “raspberry red”, although it definitely looks pink to me. The 'fd' in its moniker refers to face detection - it'll search out people in images and ensure that they, rather than the pot plants behind them, are in focus when you hit the button. Aimed squarely at the point and shoot market, the Z5fd is quick to start up - slide back the lens cover and it's ready to shoot in a couple of seconds. Despite its small size, there's a 3x optical zoom squeezed in.'

FujiFilm FinePix S9600 - LetsGoDigital

FujiFilm-FinePix-S9600-Reviewed.jpg

A review of the Fujifilm FinePix S9600 megazoom camera has been posted over at LetsGoDigital. 'Since some time, Fujifilm has two Megazoom cameras in its program. One, the FinePix S6500fd, has been produced to target the average consumer. The other, the Fujifilm FinePix S9600, has been intended for the more serious photographer and offers, for that reason, other possibilities than the FinePix S6500fd. The Fujifilm S9600 succeeds the FinePix S9500. There aren't many changes in regards to the previous model. The image quality has been improved, the Fujifilm FinePix S9600 Megazoom camera is equipped with a larger LCD monitor and an auto focus for faster focus under low light circumstances and there are improvements in the flash. The number of Megapixels remains the same.'

Fujifilm FinePix Z5fd – Trusted Reviews

Fujifilm-FinePix-Z5fd.jpg

Trusted Reviews have published a review of the Fujifilm FinePix Z5fd digital camera. ‘In design as well as décor the Z5fd is born for the clubbing lifestyle. Measuring a trim 92.8 X 55 X 19.4mm and weighing only 148g it’s small and light enough to qualify as ultra-compact, and will slip unobtrusively into a handbag or shirt pocket. When not in use the lens is protected by a sliding cover that doubles as the on/off switch, so it’s not going to be easily damaged if it has a close encounter with your pink Motorola RAZR or the lighter for your menthol cigarettes.

Fujifilm FinePix F31fd - Laptop Mag

Fujifilm-FinePix-F31fd-Review.jpg

Laptop Magazine have published their review of the compact Fujifilm FinePix F31fd digital camera. 'On the outside, there's nothing special about the FinePix F31fd's design. The 3.6 x 2.2 x 1.1-inch brushed silver camera could easily get lost on the store shelf among its competitors and even when set next to Fujifilm's FinePix F30, which has the same body, six-megapixel resolution, and 3X optical zoom. This digicam really doesn't start to shine until you fire it up. That's when you'll appreciate its high ISO sensitivity (up to 3200), face-detection technology, and an intelligent flash that keeps your shots from looking washed out.

Fujifilm FinePix A700 - Trusted Reviews

Fujifilm-FinePix-A700.jpg

Trusted Reviews have published their review of the budget-priced Fujifilm FinePix A700 digital snap shooter. 'Despite its low price, few corners have been cut in build quality or finish. The A700 has a part metal, part plastic case in a matt silver colour that doesn’t show up finger marks, with some shiny chrome parts that do, but it is well made and feels solid and robust. Measuring 93 x 60 x 30mm it’s not a particularly small camera, and weighing approximately 190g including two AA batteries it’s none too light either, so it’s not really one to carry in your shirt pocket. However the lens has an automatic cover and folds flush with the body, while the minimal controls are all smoothly rounded, so it’ll live comfortably in a coat pocket or handbag.'

Fujifilm FinePix S9600 - Trusted Reviews

Fujifilm-FinePix-S9600-reviewed.jpg

Trusted Reviews have published their review of the Fujifilm FinePix S9600 digital SLR camera. 'The S9600 is physically almost identical to the S9500, and indeed there are no immediately visible external differences apart from the model number on the top of the flash housing. This isn’t at all unexpected; the S9500 won much praise for its exceptional handling, so if it ain’t broke there’s little point in fixing it. There are a couple of changes to the specification though. The S9500’s fold-out 1.8-in, 118,000 pixel LCD monitor has been replaced with a much better 2-in 235,000 pixel unit, which is – at least as far as I am aware – the highest resolution monitor on any camera currently available. It is bright and relatively non-reflective, making it usable in bright sunlight. As on the S9500, the monitor can be folded upward by 90 degrees for use as a waist-level finder, or downward by 45 degrees for overhead use.'

Fujifilm-FinePix-S5-Pro.jpg

Lets Go Digital have published their preview of the new Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro camera. 'The Fujifilm FinePix S5 Pro is the long awaited successor to the S3 Pro camera. The camera is clearly modelled on the D200 body by Nikon, but for the rest its identity is pure Fujifilm. The Fujifilm S5 Pro has the highly praised Super CCD SR Pro image sensor which makes a whole new generation of Super CCD available. Super CCD technology has already been in development for several years and what began as a very individualistic way of CCD development has grown into a unique formula with which Fujifilm has undeniably succeeded in distinguishing itself form the rest. The unique system consists of 12 million paired photodiodes - 6.17 million 'large' S photo diodes and 6.17 million 'small' R photo diodes. This technology creates a larger dynamic range, improved noise/signal ratio and a high quality colour reproduction.'

Digital Camera Info previews the new 8 megapixel Fujifilm FinePix F40fd (face detection-enabled) compact digital camera. 'The F40fd is one of the most simply styled FinePix models on the market and that is a good thing. Its front conveys more elegance than most FinePix digital cameras. The left side of the front has a finger grip that moves inward toward the top of the camera where a Fujifilm logo is placed. The black line that runs up the left side is somewhat transparent and shows up red when the IrSimple technology is activated. A FinePix logo graces the center of the left side. The 3x zoom lens is placed near the right side, with specs rounding the end of the barrel: “Fujinon Zoom Lens, 3x, f=8-24mm, 1:2.8-5.1.” To the top right of the lens is the rectangular built-in flash, with the circular auto focus assist lamp below it. In the bottom right corner is the microphone and a few labels to flaunt the Super CCD and its 8.3 megapixels.'

Fuji FinePix S6000fd - PC Mag

Fuji-FinePix-S6000fd.jpg

PC Magazine have reviewed the 6.3-megapixel FinePix S6000fd superzoom camera. 'Fuji is not the first company to offer face-detection technology; Canon and Nikon both make similarly equipped cameras. The difference here is that Fuji is making a big deal of it, even including it in the name of the camera (thus the letters "fd"). Fuji also created an entire Web site, devoted to this feature. Essentially, the company claims that the technology helps you compose a portrait or group portrait by identifying the faces and placing squares around them. The face nearest to the camera will have a green square and should be the one the camera focuses on. So when you frame up a shot, you don't have to worry about accidentally focusing on the wrong subject.'

Fujifilm FinePix S9600 - Think Camera

Andy Lane writing over at Think Camera has posted a review of the Fujifilm FinePix S9600 Digital Camera. 'As this is an upgrade from the S9500 I shall concentrate on what's different. You can read up on the S9500 to get all the other features. So, as one of the main differences between the S9500 and the new S9600 is said to be the faster focusing and the better anti blur I took it along to a car event that I wanted to cover. I really noticed the difference in the speed of focus and once I had turned off the auto-preview of the photographs I found that I could manage to take a lot more shots straight after the other. With the S9500 I found I was lucky if I could manage 3 shots on one test. From turned off, to up and ready to shoot its much quicker. I was really pleased.'

The stylish Fujifilm FinePix F650 Digital Camera has been reviewed over at CNET. 'Although Fujifilm was among the first manufacturers to raise the sensitivity of its compact digicams, the F650 oddly tops out at ISO 400. And since it doesn't come with image stabilization, you'll have to rely on the flash when shooting in low light. The lack of flash compensation makes flash shooting less versatile than we like. On the plus side, the FinePix did a decent job of balancing fill flash with a desk lamp in our test scene.

The Fujifilm FinePix S6500fd digital camera features hardware based Face Detection technology that enable the camera to recognize faces and optimize settings to get the best photograph in a” twinkling of an eye”. ‘The S6500 is supposed to be the lower-spec camera, so it lacks a few of the S9500’s features. For starters it has a 6.3-megapixel SuperCCD HR sensor, compared to its older brother’s 9.0-megapixel sensor. Its 2.5in, 235,000 pixel LCD monitor is bigger and sharper, but lacks the S9500’s fold-out ability. It has a much simpler control layout, which unfortunately means that some useful features, such as the self-timer, are relegated to the menu.
