Ricoh Caplio R6 Review - DigiCamReview

Ricoh-Caplio-R6-Reviewed.jpg

DigiCamReview have published a review of the compact Ricoh Caplio R6 digital camera. 'Announced on the 5th of March 07, the Ricoh Caplio R6 is a new compact update to the Ricoh Caplio R5 - the 7 megapixel digital camera has a 7.1x optical zoom lens - this is impressive considering that the camera is now even slimmer. The camera's wide-angle 7.1x optical zoom lens starts at 28mm and zooms to 200mm equivalent, and has a built in lens-cover. The camera also features a "Vibration Correction" CCD sensor, much like Konica Minolta's Anti-shake technology - image stabilisation is becoming more and more common as an effective way to reduce camera shake and blur in low-light or with long zoom lenses. The Ricoh Caplio R6 is available for £162, which is excellent value for money.'

Ricoh Caplio GX100 Review – Lets Go Digital

Ricoh-Caplio-GX100.jpg

Lets Go Digital have published a review of the Ricoh Caplio GX100 digital camera. ‘The most striking specification of the Ricoh GX100 is the zoom range. It starts at 24mm (35mm equivalent). This is a true wide-angle! Although there are a few other cameras with this kind of wide-angle, the Ricoh Caplio GX100 is rather unique. The tele-range goes up to 72mm, which is reasonable. The focal length is long enough for a head-shoulder portrait, but you will not be able to record the uncommon bird in your yard. If 24mm is not sufficient as wide-angle, you can screw an optional converter lens via an adapter on the camera. This way you will have a wide-angle equivalent to 19mm, amazing! To compensate jitter, the Ricoh Caplio GX100 has been equipped with an optical image stabilizer. With that, Ricoh follows the current trend.’

Ricoh Caplio R6 - The Photography Blog

Ricoh-Caplio-R6-Review.jpg

A review of the Ricoh Caplio R6 digital camera has been posted over at the Photography Blog. 'The Ricoh Caplio R6 is a very compact digital camera that easily fits in the palm of your hand, measuring 99.6(W) x 55.0 (H) x 23.3mm (D) and weighing around 135g. This is one camera that you truly won't notice carrying in a trouser/shirt pocket or a handbag. It has an under-stated appearance that is fairly attractive, but which isn't going to really wow anyone either. A sticker on front of my review sample proudly proclaims that the Ricoh Caplio R6 has a 28-200mm zoom range, a truly amazing feat of engineering in such a small camera. When the lens is fully extended, the camera measures over 7cm in depth, but thankfully it retracts fully back into the body when it is turned off.'

Ricoh Caplio R6 - Trusted Reviews

Ricoh-Caplio-R6.jpg

Trusted Reviews have published their review of the Ricoh Caplio R6 digital camera. 'From the moment I got the R6 out of the box I was impressed. Previous Ricoh cameras have been very good, but the styling has always struck me as being a bit industrial. Not so with the R6; the all-metal body is beautifully designed, with some nice touches such as the strap lug and port hatch integrated into the trim on the right end, and the subtly sculpted shape of the thumb-rest area on the back, with its comfortable rubber grip.

Ricoh Caplio R5 – Trusted Reviews

Ricoh-Caplio-R5.bmp

The Ricoh Caplio R5 digital camera has been reviewed over at Trusted Reviews. ‘The Caplio R5 was announced in August this year, and is now the flagship of Ricoh’s zoom compact range. It has a specification unmatched by any other compact camera on the market, offering 28-200mm-equivalent optical zoom, 7.24 megapixel resolution, 2.5in 230,000 pixel monitor, 1,600 ISO sensitivity and moving sensor image stabilisation. This is all contained in a package measuring 96 x 55 x 26mm and weighing just 140g. It has a current high street price of £249.99, but is available online for around £239. This is a little on the expensive side but compares reasonably well with what is probably its closest match, the 6x zoom Canon PowerShot A710IS.’

Ricoh Caplio R5 Digital Camera Review

Ricoh%20Caplio%20R5.jpg

Think Camera has reviewed the 7 megapixel Ricoh Caplio R5 "entry level" digital camera. 'Squint and you'll easily mistake the R5 for an R4 or an R3. While other manufacturers are making cosmetic nips and tucks and adding scene modes that we doubt most people will use, Ricoh seem happy to stick with what they know and slowly turn up the pixel count with every revision. The latest of their “R” range has 7 million pixels. Six months ago that would have been considered extraordinary - right now it's on the high side of entry level.

Ricoh GR-Digital Camera Review

Ricoh GR-Digital.jpg

Digital Photography Review has reviewed the compact Ricoh GR-Digital Camera. 'Announced almost a year ago - and rumored for a long time before - the GR Digital was always going to be something of a niche product. Described as a 'professional grade high resolution compact' the GR Digital echoes the design and ethos of the popular and very highly regarded GR series of film compacts and is unusual in having a fixed 28mm equivalent F2.4 lens and full photographic control. The 8MP GR-D (as we'll call it from now on) is also fairly expandable; with an optional optical viewfinder, 21mm equivalent ultra wide converter and dedicated flash available (though by then you've spend well over $1000). Originally released only in Europe and Asia, the GR-D has recently made its way to North America, though you're still unlikely to find it on the shelves of your local camera store.'

Ricoh Caplio RR660 Digital Camera Review At Think Camera

Ricoh Caplio RR660.jpg

Think Camera has reviewed the Ricoh Caplio RR660 "pocket" camera. 'Features on compact cameras are getting out of hand. People are now expecting 85 different scene modes (even though few people use them), anti shake, Bluetooth, 80 fps movie modes etc... Given the price of the RR660 and the target market, it will come as no real surprise that it lacks many of these. There are modes for portraits, landscapes, action, close ups and night portraits as well as a movie mode that will record about an hour and a quarter's worth of web quality video onto a 1GB memory chip. More expensive cameras may offer more but really I doubt if you'll find a scene mode that you need that isn't available. There is a 3X zoom that runs from 5.5 - 16.5mm - in “normal” terms (i.e. compared to a 35mm film camera) that's roughly equivalent to 35ish to 100ish mm. Not a huge zoom but a useful one going from moderately wide angle to moderate telephoto.'
