Samsung NV10 Review - CNET

Samsung-NV10.jpg

CNET have published a review of the Samsung NV10 digital snapshot camera. 'With its rows of unmarked buttons, Smart Touch might seem intimidating at first, but it's surprisingly intuitive for accessing the camera's various commands. While its menus are easily navigated with the touch sensors, though, other options aren't quite so easy. Any action that needs navigating with a slider, whether it's browsing your old photos or adjusting manual focus, becomes painfully awkward with the NV10. Since the camera doesn't have specific directional buttons, you must either repeatedly stroke the sensors in a given direction or stroke once and awkwardly hold your finger carefully over a sensor. Smart Touch also tends to be unforgiving to large-fingered users; big digits often accidentally brush against several of the camera's sensors at a time, causing them to misfire.'

Review: Samsung S1030 and S850 Digital Cameras - Reg Hardware

Samsung-S1030.jpg

A review of the Samsung S1030 and S850 digital cameras has been posted over at the Register Hardware. 'The Samsung S1030 and S850 offer huge image sizes at a knockdown price, with plenty of extra features and full 30 fps movie recording with sound. With superior ASR and Wise Shot modes on the S850 you're guaranteed better shots. Just don't forget to buy a few dozen sets of batteries, as these puppies are power hungry. There was a time when, a hundred and thirty of your hard-earned would get you only the most basic digital camera. But the Samsung S1030 combines a huge 10 megapixel chip with a wealth of extra features at this knockdown price, combining superior image quality with ease of use: its stablemate, the S850, has an 8 megapixel chip but, at £30 more, offers some significant enhancements.'

Review: Samsung Digimax L74 Wide – CNET Asia

Samsung-Digimax-L74-Wide.jpg

A review of the Samsung Digimax L74 Wide digital camera has been posted over at CNET Asia. ‘As its name implies, the L74 Wide specializes in taking wide-angle shots. Its 3.6x zoom lens starts at a 28mm-equivalent angle of view, letting you fit more into your shot, which tends to be much more useful in everyday situations. For example, a 28mm-equivalent lens can get more people into a group photo, or frame a tall building without forcing you to step back as far as you would with a 35 or 38mm-equivalent lens. In an attempt to help keep your shots steady, the L74 Wide includes Samsung's Advanced Shake Reduction, an electronic image stabilization system that boosts ISO sensitivity and speeds up the shutter for high-speed and zoomed-in shots.’

Samsung L700 - Pocket-Lint

Samsung-L700.jpg

Pocket-Lint have published a review of the Samsung L700 digital camera which features a 7-megapixel image resolution, a 3x optical zoom and a bright 2.5-inch LCD display. 'Announced at CES earlier this year, the L700 is like most of the other cameras that Samsung launched at the same time, a 7-megapixel snapper with a 3x optical zoom. The L700 offers a 2.5-inch display on the back, numerous picture modes, as well as the ability to record movies in MPEG4 at 30fps. When it comes to performance, the L700 is fairly middle of the road. The camera is easy to use, but nothing out of this world. '

Samsung S850 - CNET

Samsung-S850.jpg

CNET have published a review of the Samsung S850 digital camera. ' The S850 is an 8-megapixel, sub-$250 shooter with full manual exposure controls, giving frugal photographers plenty of settings to tinker with. Manual mode even has a convenient onscreen meter that tells you if your photo will be over- or underexposed, an extremely useful tool when tweaking all the settings by hand. Strangely, the camera doesn't have a manual focus setting, forcing you to choose between center and multipoint autofocus. Manual focus would have been nice, but its absence is hardly a surprise; few, if any, low-end cameras offer manual focus.

Samsung L73 - Digital Camera Info

Samsung-L73.jpg

Digital Camera Info have posted their preview of the the new Samsung L73 digital camera. 'The Samsung L73 is a compact 7.2-megapixel camera that takes a number of cues from Samsung’s NV range. It doesn’t have a profusion of buttons and control dials. Instead, it uses the new Smart Touch interface, a cross between a touchpad and a directional control. This new control system, that was first seen on the NV7 late last year, replaces the touch screen with an array of touch-sensitive buttons below and to the left of the screen. The labels appear on the screen. The user presses the buttons and drags their finger over to navigate the menus. We looked at a pre-production model at the CES show in Las Vegas. Here are our first impressions of this new camera.'

Samsung GX 1L Digital SLR - Trusted Reviews

Samsung-GX-1L-Digital-SLR.jpg

Trusted Reviews have reviewed the Samsung GX 1L Digital SLR which is Samsung’s first digital SLR camera 'You may get a strong sense of déjà vu looking at these pictures of the Samsung GX 1L . Don’t worry, it’s not a glitch in the Matrix; you really have seen it before. I reviewed it back in July, but then it was called the Pentax *ist DL2. Samsung and Pentax have a joint development deal for digital SLR technology, and have launched their own versions of several key models including this one, the GX 1S and the new GX 10, which is actually a slightly re-modelled Pentax K10D.'

Review: Samsung GX-1S Digital Camera - Lets Go Digital

Samsung%20GX-1S.jpg

The Samsung GX-1S SLR has among its features a Schneider D-XENON 18-55mm Lens, 2.5 inch LCD Screen, PictBridge, 6 Megapixels and high-Speed USB 2.0. 'With the Samsung GX-1S digital SLR camera, Samsung take their first steps into the lowest segment of this strongly growing market. A logical step, especially as the range of professional models is generally hard to enter, and the battle is fought between Canon and Nikon. (Professional) Photographers are often more conservative than one would perhaps imagine. The Samsung GX-1S is a pleasantly small and light-weight digital SLR camera, one that isn't likely to be left at home, which makes the GX-1S an excellent alternative for those that are interested in taking the step from a compact camera to a digital SLR camera, without having to compromise on ease and convenience.'

Samsung NV10 Digital Camera Review

Samsung%20NV10.jpg

A review of the "nice looking" Samsung NV10 digital camera has been posted over at Pocket-Lint. 'Samsung recently launched three new digital cameras as a part of a new range entitled NV for New Vision, but does the flagship model, the NV10, live up to that vision? We check it out. The NV10 sports a whopping 10 megapixels in a compact digital camera no bigger than a packet of 20 cigarettes, which in our minds is a tad excessive for the average consumer digital camera user. Following the same lines as the NV3, the NV10 features a protruding 3x optical zoom lens, ISO settings up to a rather low 1000, 11 scene modes and something Samsung calls "Smart Touch".'

Next to the screen sit the zoom rocker; a four-way-plus-OK control pad; and mode, effect, setting/delete, and review/print buttons. A wide lanyard hole sits between the zoom rocker and the control pad, with its textured base serving as a small thumb rest. Samsung Digimax L85 Digital Camera

Samsung Digimax L85.jpg

Dont be put off by the rubberized black body of the Samsung Digimax L85 camera, this device is not one of those type of cameras your parents previously owned but a modern, feature-packed snap shooter for all those family and vacation shoots. 'The Samsung Digimax L85 is a surprisingly functional 8-megapixel digital camera. Its chunky, retro design belies its very flexible, high-end feature set, including the unique ability to output HDMI . Granted, HDMI in a digital camera is more novel than utilitarian, but the wealth of manual settings and image features will be appreciated by anyone who wants to take solid photos. As long as you don't mind its propensity for fringing on edges and the lack of a fast burst mode, you'll find the Samsung Digimax L85 a versatile, quality shooter.'
